  • I used to have one of those, and to be honest they're not really worth the money - you're just as well off with a headset.

If you really want a 'proper' phone for use with Skype, the best I have come across (for decent money anyway) is this one - http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=19126

Aria had them on super special for around £12 last week, so worth keeping an eye on the specials.

You can also get an adapter, for around a tenner on eBay which lets you use any regular phone with skype

I was going to mention those, but I've never come across them for a tenner - last time I looked the cheapest I could find was around £60.

That would definately be the best option though, far more flexible (i.e use cordless phones etc)

Half agree with jakemuk (though asterisk may be a little hardcore for most!) ... these skype handsets only work while your computer is on. There are lots of free services providing SIP computer-computer calls to free and (with a proper SIP phone rather than a headset) allow you to receive calls even when the computer is off.
This one also allows you to seamlessly switch between your phone network (BT) and internet calls!

It's about £80, but I've already saved that by making all my personal calls using it (plus I connect to my office's telephone system and can work from home!).
