Small pension

Options
My husband died and I have some of his pensions, One is a very small one of about 40 pound a month, is there a way I can ask them for a settlement figure, I am 48 and they will be paying it for quite a few years hopefully.

There is provision to allow this under post 6th April 2006 changes but you tend to find that legacy plans (those set up prior to that date) dont have that option available and there is no requirement for them to make it available.

The general rule of thumb is that once a pension annuity is purchased, it is cast in stone for life.
