Futon - single or double best?

Hi we are looking to buy a futon for occasional guests to sleep on for 1-2 nights per month. It will not be used as a sofa during the day. Hubby thinks we should buy a single futon, thinks double look a bit unsteady at the edge and guest may roll off onto floor. Has anyone found this a problem? Tesco/Argos did have some nice double ones but unsure of quality but would not be in constant use. Any recommendations would be great, looking to keep it under £300.00. Many thanks.

Depends if you're inviting one or two guests?! If two, a single may be a bit cramped
but at least if you get the double and they fall off in the night it wont be far to fall :rotfl:
For the limited use it would get, i'd not spend so much but probably get the double at least. Surely eBay/gumtree/freecycle etc would have an old ikea one going for much less than your budget?:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Hi TiTheRev, It would be for single use only. The ikea ones did not look up to much. My brother is a fairly big guy and he would be using it at some point so need something that would take a bit of weight. Gumtree have nothing in my area but will check out free cycle. Would prefer a recommendation from someone who has purchased from ebay before parting with my cash. Many thanks for your comments.
