And there are members who are slightly irritating wind up merchants. But we're all here - I guess because we like to discuss the issues, share experiences, and just have a laugh sometimes. But here's a thought. If you don't like it, and it makes you unhappy, why not go elsewhere?...but there are members of this board who are extremly happy to what is happening.0 -
Chucky...I'm getting suspicious...are you Gordon Brown ?.Don't believe everything you think.
Blessed are the cracked...for they are the ones who let in the light. A x0 -
No, Chucky's the forum's resident troll. He's rather fond of fabricating quotes and attributing them to people on the opposite side of an argument. So watch out for that one.0

A typical debate with Chucky:
Chucky: You said "....xyz..........."
Poster A: No actually I didn't say that
Chucky: Okay you didn't say it but someone else did and you agreed with them.
Poster A: No actually I didn't agree with them. Can you prove that I agreed with them?
Chucky: Yes, of course I can. Hold on a minute.
Poster A : Still waiting chucky........
Chucky: No, eerrrr. Actually I can't find the post. I'm sure it was there, you must have deleted it. And the person you agreed with must have deleted their post too.
Poster A: Rock on chucky
As you can see chucky is a tremendous debater. Although the facts aren't his strong point. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

I have just read this entire thread. As an outsider all I can see is this Chucky character being antagonistic, rude, microanalysing peoples posts & attacking peoples characters. Is this a troll? People getting caught up in these arguements. Does not not make for a good forum.
I thought MSE was beyond this kind of thing. No doubt another insulting reply will appear because thats what they do.
Back on topic. This correction is needed and is long overdue. Those who have foreseen it and have not participated have usually prepared for it and will buy whenever the time becomes right.0 -
You're a great judge of character. You summed him up better than any of the rest of us could.MiserlyMartin wrote: »I have just read this entire thread. MiserlyMartin summed you up perfectly Chucky. I think we're all agreed, you're a right nasty piece of work.0

Poor guy -he never really got over his Polaris World debacle. People just don't realise the emotional damage that getting caught out by a ropey foreign property ad on TV can cause.
We should show a little more understanding I think.--
Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.0 -
Ok
I suppose you could put me in the HPC crowd as I was one of those warning that prices were going to go on a downslope but I lived through the recession in the late 80's early 90's, lost my home and have lived with the ramifications of that ever since.
Not all HPC'ers want people to lose their jobs or homes (in fact I would wager very few want that) but just for prices to come back into an affordability range from an extremely are you blooming crazy range.
I hate seeing mention of jobs being lost, I really feel for those losing their homes having been there and done it, people losing their life savings because they thought buying shares in a major bank would be safe etc...but I am also still a HPC'er.
As for !!!!!!, he was actually posting at the weekend that he was buying gold and the reasons why (prices seemingly starting to rise) , it has not been a retrospective posting.
And my reasons for saying that house prices were crazy and were due a bust...well nothing financial, I neither own or want to own in the near, mid or distant future! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
