New Job overseas employer.

in Cutting tax
I am starting a new job very soon working for a company based in Korea. They have no fixed presence in the UK. They will be paying me direct from Korea. What is the best option for me regarding tax and NI payments (which I obviously want to keep to a min)? They also cover all my out of pocket expenses. Included in the package is a 50p a mile petrol allowance for all business miles will there be any tax due on this?

As the sole Uk rep of an overseas employer, you will need to register as an employer with HMRC and operate PAYE on your salary. Your local tax office will give you details. The 50p pm travel allowance will need to be included in your salary as it is above the 40p pm tax free allowance. You will then reclaim the 40p pm through tax yourself.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

You may find that you are creating a permanent establishment of the Korean entity in the UK so corporate returns may be required.
You may also need to charge VAT on the supply of services so I would suggest the Korean company takes advice.0
