Tuesday 16/09/08. What small dfw things will you do today????

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Hi to any new posters and a big shout to the usual gang:j

My things for today:
-I have four mystery shops to do
-I will write up the reports later
-i will go to my second job
-I will check for mystery shops later
-ill put a cheque in the bank
-ill put money in payment a day challenge
-ill check banking

Not doing much today as still feel under the weather. Have a great day everyone.

    Morning all

Having a nice quiet day today too, off to toddler group with my boys this morning. Will just stay in this arvo and try and catch up with housework and I have a big pile of things to list on ebay.

I also picked up a small claims pack from county court today as we're going to have to take ex-landlady to court to try to get at least some of our deposit back so I'll make a start on drafting our case for that (not such a little thing I know!!)

    Have a good day all

  • Morning all, oh andan your feeling poory, hope you feel better soon. I wasn’t on yest I was very lazy. I spent a few pennies but out of my change jar and it was only small. I got some recipe cards from Sainsbury’s too.
I did get too yesterday 15.00 credit on my American express card as a goodwill form nectar. They messed up with a bill! So result there!! Also a free movie rental form blockbuster for tonight after I have done my uni work! Bargin student offer I got the other day.
I went to see a house new build yesterday show room as a bit of motivation, it made me a tad depressed, it was perfect I fell in love with it. But I now realise for sure to get there I have to save! So I will today:

-Do my uni assignment and get it out the way
-Tidy uni notes away in the boxes I got yest from Ikea
-Do washing if I have time

  • Checked my banking online and have £130 to last me until 15th next month! Everything has been paid though and I'm pretty much up-to-date for this month.

I've got about £180 worth of cheques and refunds due to me from HBOS, Tesco and Natwest so hopefully these arrive sooner rather than later so I'll be chasing these up later today.

Also checking the whole Piggy point thing and also valued opinions.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
