Faulty dishwasher

Bit of a strange query but I thought I'd ask anyway ...
I've a 3yr old Servis M4605s Dishwasher that recently stopped heating the water when on a cycle, so I thought that it must be the heating element that was faulty. A relatively cheap fix at about £30 for the part. However after a bit of research I found that the likelyhood is that the element will probably be fine but that the circuit board is faulty ... don't know the cost but would assume £60 - £70. Now the downside, £85 callout fee from Servis for an engineer to examine & then confirm the fault.
Now I'm not about to spend £85+Vat plus parts on a 3yr old machine to not have any sort of guarentee so what I want to know is, are there any places that recycle or repair these machines, maybe even charity based because I really would feel guilty duming what is a very good machine that currently still works but without heating the water.
Thanks

Rather than using Servis, what about a local independent electrician? Maybe easier to pay?
If you have really given up on it, then there used to be a charity shop near Connswater that may be able to help. Sorry can't remember the details. Could also try the SVP shop on the Antrim Road. Could also try Freecycle. Good luck.0 -
I wouldn't bother even trying to get it fixed. I have had Servis appliances before and my washing machine died one week after the end of the warranty and the dryer died one month later. To add to that they had both been repaired within the first year under the warranty. Don't waste your money!
I had good adivice from an independent repair guy who told me only to buy zanussi, electrolux or tricity bendix (sp!) All these machines are made by the same people so are all good quality and only difference is the price you pay for brand name.
I got a machine out of the buy and sell for £50 and two years later it's still going well. There are always loads of advertisements for appliances in the free ad papers as some people tend to buy new machines to match their new kithcen or to get integrated. The one I bought was 9 months old, a saving of over £200. Well worth a look0
