    cheers for that, it was on that one and it does give some fairly acurate information. Luckily I had the chance to research my family name years ago so have some knowledge of it. I am amazed it has shown on this site though, it is the first one that has.

    But don't despair :-) We still endeavour to research about 10 surnames a month. To make sure that we can serve as many people as possible we have a scheme for researching the names with the most interest.

  • hmmm, it says my surname is german, but it's greek! to be fair though, it is one of these mysterious names which doesn't have much background to it... but greek and german are polar opposites!

    Very strange as my Mothers maiden name was unusual so tried that name on both sites one said that it was of Norse origin and the other said that it was of Irish origin my Mother was born in Wales:confused:
