Thanks for that, sorry I reposted my enquiry a second time as I did not see - you answered so quickly.

hiya, a remedy passed to me from mum was,
when feeling the onset of a urine infection coming on, mix half glass of water with half glass of milk and pinch of salt and drink as much as you can.
this remedy works for me most of the time and it seems to stop the condition from worsening and does seem to get better, without need for antibiotics, (which i used to have).Nice to save.0 -
or water and a few teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda...0

I certainly wouldnt recommend drinking it between meals. The sugar content as previously mentioned tends to be rather high. I think there is something in the berries themselves but the sugar content of the drinks cancels out this positive effect and then some.0 -
Inhibitory effects of cranberry juice on attachment of oral streptococci and biofilm formation. The present findings suggest that cranberry juice component(s) can inhibit colonization by oral streptococci to the tooth surface and can thus slow development of dental plaque. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

I've always been told that cranberry juice will help prevent infection, but doesn't help to remove it. (I think that agrees with Ted's research) but it can make something like cystitis more painful due to the acidic content. However, the added fluid intake will help flush out the system.0

Yes but this doesnt mean you can ignore the sugar and acid content of the drink which is why I advised not to drink it between meals0 -
From what I've read cranberry juice capsules may be good to take on a regular basis if you have a history of urinary infections but for me the best thing to get rid of an infection is Robinson's Barley Water and lots of it. I find this clears up any infection within a day or two.0
