Compensation for mis-sold PPI

Options
Can anyone help?

I was mis-sold a PPI throught the RBS. I have waited 18months for any formal reply. They have fobbed me off with excuses such as "your documentation is filed at the back of a vault and we're too shorted staffed to do anything about it" and "you have no accounts with this bank".
Last week I received a phone call from them apologising for the mis-handling of my claim and sorry but they have in fact lost all details relating to my claim. On the up side, they had contacted the insurance company who supplied the ineffective PPI who were fast tracking my claim. 2 days later I was phoned again, this time to inform me that I was getting a payout and asked me to write to them asking for financial compensation. This is where I am struggling as I don't know how much to ask for. It has been suggested to me I should ask for 8% interest, £££ for duress & inconvience and furthermore ££££ due to the loss of my data. Has anyone any experience of this sort of thing?

    Hi there hun

They have made some pathetic excuses here.

If you add this post into the reclaiming forum, (Click on loans - then you will see above the top of the threads reclaiming/discussions), where you will receive further help and advice.;)

Have you still the paperwork for your policy ?
And how long ago was it when you had taken this out ?

If you don't mind posting on the mentioned forum hun, there you will get no ends of replies and the guidance you require.
