Hi. I've done a search on the forum and cant find anything on this but i do apologize if its been posted before.
How do i clean cast iron pan supports? I put them in in the bath last night, sprayed with Cilit bang degreaser (not impressed, the stuff from aldi is much better) and then scrubbed them with wire scourer, some of the grease has gone but theres still some horrid bits welded on. Is there something else i can use?
any ideas would be fantastic.
thanks

Biological wash powder is good for getting rid of grease gunk... make it into a paste, spread on and leave for a good few hours/til next day.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
Not quite sure what they are made of, but if they are plain cast iron then burning on a bare flame would be the answer.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

I have to agree abouut the biological washing powder - leave it to soak and it should lift everything. Avoid anything to harsh, including scrubbing with sponges that are too abrasive - we did that with ours and the enamel eventually wore away, effectively making it no longer non-stick. Still had all the qualities of cast iron but to avoid doing what we did, it is best to let it soak and approach it the next day!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
