I didn't watch the programme but this thread has given me a 'you don't know you're born' moment...i.e
When I was paying £6,000 for a house in 1976 I was paying £20 for a pair of jeans...needless to say we didn't have many clothes !!
And there are many other things which are much cheaper today comparatively as well... notably.. shoes...food...household furnishings. And apparently solicitors fees !!!.

Funny, Mr Phirefly's sentiment was similar, he was wondering when there'd be a report from Rome confirming the religious persuasion of the Pope.... It was more amusing the first time round he cracked it, during that wine swindle dispatches show where they were 'revealing' how supermarkets ramp prices on wine before selling it off supposedly half price. Wow.0
