of the broken down car - me - walking miles down the country road, no phone signal, no buses, no chance of doing anything but trudging.

Out - of luck, and possibly life - my car :-(

(known as 'nanny's car' because it belonged to the MIL first). Smoking heavily, making a dreadful noise and leaking. Uh oh. Now sitting in a field gateway, abandoned. Poor Nanny's Car.

Me. Eventually. Thanks to a very kind passing motorist who took pity on my desperate hitch-hiker thumb and took me to a nearby village, and a friend who got my frantic phone message and came out looking for me.


In - at home, all night, but never picked up my phone calls because he was outside at the time my OH. He is also IN - Very Bad Books.

Not out as in out-of-the-house, but Mr LW finally got around to sorting out the two plastic basket full of junk that were in the hall cupboard. So they now just contain stuff we need to hand - such as spare light bulbs, a few small tools, fuses, parcel tape, and the stuff we need once in a blue moon, like carpet tape, wall plugs, spare electrical plugs, wood screws, and other miscellaneous stuff has gone out of the way into the loft.

My sanity is sulking outside as well - DD is off school ill and has been since Monday after catching whats kept me off work (voluntary job) for two weeks :eek::rotfl::rotfl:

The spare room has been cleared now – pretty soon ill be able to paint and carpet it, and then ‘shock horror’ it might be a useable, lovely room!!! Then that will be the bulk of my decluttering done – only small occasional spurts will be needed….what will I do with all my free time??

You have the same aim as me! I am nearly finished decluttering my spare room then I'll be able to paint it and carpet it and turn it into a useable room too!

2. the great Loft-a-liscious Summer / Autumnwinter clothes switchover
3. Summer / winter linen switchover (bring on the flanalette sheets :rotfl:)
4. Big telly out of frontroom, wrapped up and into garage
5. All my bookkeeping tax stuff sorted and taken upstairs to files

Could I join in please? My house doesn't look bad at first but it's what lurks beneath that is the problem. I run a Guide unit and have all the paperwork and clutter from that as well as two teenagers and OH who plays with old cars - bits of which migrate into the house if I'm not paying attention.
We are all on holiday next week and I hope to spend one hour (at least)each day on a different room so that we will have made a decent dent in it by the time we all go back to school / work. The family are unaware of my plans but I am very good at getting people involved - they just don't know they want to do it yet
