End Of Mortgage In Sight!!

Hi this is a new user to the site, I've tried to find a previous similar post but was bogged down!!

I can see the end of my mortgage in sight now, yeeeehaaa, final payment is due in February 2009 - what is the best thing to do - should I pay it off to the final penny OR do I leave a small amount left unpaid??

I recall some years ago hearin that it gives you a 'credit' benefit for having a debt against your name??

Look forward to hearing your tips!!

Derek

If like most people you have a mobile phone , broadband, car loan, credit
card, dental plan, life insurance, car insurance etc you will have alot of
current ( debts ! ) against your credit file so having another IE mortgage will not make any difference.
The credit score is worked out on what your credit file has been over the last couple of years.
having CCJ,s arrers of loans, defaults affect your credit score
Find somewhere safe to store the deeds ( can be a large file if old house )
in a secure fire proof safe and clear the mortgage WELL DONE on becoming MF !
