Hello All, my O/H has decided to try his hand at golf...again! I have been looking on ebay and the average price for a full set is about £150 but, I have never heard of the makes. Even though I do not want to spend more than that price, he will still need a strong reliable set. Any recommadation would be appreciated.

We got a great set of Hippos on ebay at £199 and they were £399 in shops- trader was excellent. Pm if you want their details and I will try to dig them up. My posh brother on the other hand when to sport soccerr and got a cheap donnay set for £99 and as a lot of the shops are rebranding I have seen them for only £69. It is a good price for starting out.
I personally thought my b/f was a bit extreme with the hippos as a lot of specailist shops like American golf measure you for what time of clubs are best ( and give good advice ) but they advised him not to buy an expensive set until he had developed a good sound swing and playing style, because the clubs he needs will change. You could try American golf for ideas.

Don't go for the Donnay ones. The head flew off my 7 iron after a 2 trips to the driving range.
