I have a friend who stays down that way who is gonna do some research for us with regards to pubs/food/hotels etc.

okey dokey. I stayed in Manchester about 5 years ago in the city centre and the pub was sooo cheap it was amazing.

I rented a serviced apartment for 2 nights, it was really plush!
