prepaid credit cards

has anyone got any experience of these? I now only have an electron card and a basic bank account. Part of Payplans terms and conditions is that you have no credit - and I don't want any anyway since that's what got me into trouble in the first place. Trouble is, electron cards aren't accepted everywhere - I travel a lot for work and you can't buy rail tickets with electron cards, quite tricky if you want a monthly travelcard. I also sometimes need to stay in hotels - I pay and then claim on expenses. Many hotels won' t take electron. I know there are such things as prepaid credit cards, where you load money onto them, can't spend over what you have put onto it, therefore aren't using credit or paying interest. Benefit is you have visa or mastercard logo which anyone will accept. But I don't know any reputable ones in the UK - saw some on the internet but from a Latvian bank!

Is about the best and most reputable.
There is a monthly fee of £4.95 + other charges including £14.99 for issue,
However it serves a purpose, although you will pay a price for it:rolleyes: It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -

I know Capital One guaruntee to give you a card so long as you can answer three basic questions, and you may need to provide a cheque as a deposit (presumably to credit the account before you use it?)
