Hi - he has now received his credit report and there is a CCJ for a judgement value of £244 but the client name is not on the report and therefore we are no further on in establishing who the debt was with.
If we were to contact the court with the judgement number would the court supply the information? and if the debt is his how would you advise we deal with it bearing in mind the Company are asking in excess of £1500.

Would be grateful for any advise.

Yes the court should be able to supply that info. You might want to mention to the court about how much the outstanding amount has ballooned into over less than 6 months. They may have something to say about that.

Phoenix bought a lot of Littlewood debts earlier this year. If it's one of those you should probably go for set-aside as there is unlikely ever to have been a signed agreement and therefore you have a defence with a reasonable prospect of sucess.

judgement for £157 but demanding £1500? I can't get my head around that!

Hi thanks for all your replies, I also cant understand where they get £1500+ from, whilst I dont have much money I am fortunate enough never to have been in this situation and dont know if this is the norm for these Companies to do this.

Would they not have to have a CCA to obtain judgement?

I will keep you updated with the outcome when I am able to get him to ring the Court this week

I have spent hours going through threads on this forum and am touched by the help and support all you people give to each other, this site and the people who use it are amazing. :A
