You can have one cash ISA and one investment ISA worth 3,600 each year.
You can transfer an existing ISA to a better provider with a higher rate and add money to it.Do not close the account yourself or you will lose the ISA.
You could also consider NSI index linked certificates which pay inflation plus 1% tax free which is equivalent to more than 6% for a basic rate taxpayer.The limit there is 15k per issue, so no problem.Trying to keep it simple...
