Hi - I'm new to this board, but have been doing a bit of lurking
I am throwing a baby shower for a good friend of mine and need some ideas for budget food. The last time I threw a shower it cost me in excess of 100 quid - I definately don't want to do that again!
It's an afternoon affair, but the theme is Green (i.e. ethical, fairtrade, organic, etc). She is also a vegetarian. There will about 15 guests. If anyone has any ideas or recipes I would really appreciate it. I'm not much of a cook (OH does the cooking in my house) so any help would be fab!
Thanks,
Wendybird

Morrisons have got a "price crunch on over 150 organic products" until 21st September. I've just been looking at the leaflet from the free paper. Mostly 25% off usual prices0

Ohh, thank you Pink-Winged - will check those out - I'm sure I can make some of them veggie! That is just what I needed!
Elle_gee - I've got a Morrisons near work so will take a look in there. The shower isn't until October, but I can freeze any bargains I pick up0 -
http://www.morrisons.co.uk/Offers/Organic/ - this is the link to give you an idea.. only seven of the "over 150" products though!
They even do organic wine

I'd suggest lots of one or two dishes rather than lots of different things.
Chop up some cucumber, tomatoes and celery into batons and serve with humous
Mini yorkshire puds with a V sausage inside
Fruit dipped in chocolate
Little square of toast with pesto and a twist of lemon on top0
