Hi all. Do you know where (shop or online) I can buy either clear or patterned plastic tablecloth cheaply? Want to use it instead of the classic fabric tablecloth which I have to put in the wash after every dinner. The plastic ones can be just wiped clean. :j

John Lewis do rolls of it, but the stuff I saw was Orla Kiely, so quite expensive. They might do cheaper designs though.0

Markets often have it too0

Hello jasmine from the north
I'll move your thread to the 'I wanna' board.

Dunelm Mill have a good selection and they offer good value. They had some nice pastel gingham ones - a bit Cath Kidston

Whereabouts are you in the North?
Aba Khan Fabrics (who have stores in Manchester and Preston) sell it on rolls and it's very cheap
Also, what we do is use the fabric tablecloths but cover it with a clear plastic table covering - again available at Markets or even Aba Khan I think - it's really cheap at about £2.50 a metre and means you can use the fabric tablecloths. Like the printed plastic ones just wipe clean.
Hope that helps?0 -
I got mine in John Lewis, it's a giant multi-coloured spot on white background and it was £10 a metre. They did cheaper ones pre-cut in the tablecloth sections but they weren't the oil cloth plastic covered ones even though the packaging said wipe clean. They were very pretty but I wanted something hard-wearing for the kids.
When we had a Dunelm fabric shop they sold it on the roll but ours closed down unfortunately.0 -
Yorkshire Linens stock plastic tablecloths. If you are not near a store they do mail order www.yorkshirelinen.com. After years of washing tablecloths after every meal I have finally resorted to using one for every day use."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Hi everyone, thank you very much for your help. Great!!!
John Lewis sounds expensive although I will have a look. I have never heard of the Aba Khan Fabrics and the Dunelm Mill but I'll try to google them. And thanks to TravellingAbuela for the website - very helpful. Really don't like having to wash the tablecloth after every dinner. So the plastic stuff is really a godsent even though I try not to buy anything that resembles plastic. Thanks again. :T :T :T xxx0 -
Have a look on eBay, they have quite a few tablecloths, some of which were plastic last time I looked.0

Hi guys, I am still chasing after the plastic tablecloth, no luck with the www.yorkshirelinen.com or anywhere else, and I don't want to buy from ebay - dreadful experiences with sellers from there...Going to Buxton today - apparently there is a shop with this sort of thing, well, I hope...
Also would like to get one with Christmas-ish pattern too, so we'll see...0
