    Hi Mrs H

We've done F&Fs to individual lenders while on our SC DMP using christmas and birthday money usually. Successfully and with their knowledge. They also have a service to do this for you but I can't comment on how effective that is as we haven't used it.

Template letters of many varieties can be found on the National Debtline website - dead easy to download and tweak to your circumstances.

Somewhere, further back on this thread are my experiences of F&Fs, and the whole thread is worth a read before you start.

    Best of luck, SAAC

Well, my OH has been given some money by his parents as his birthday present so we're going to give another F&F a try. But, firstly, we're going to do some CCA requests to some key creditors. So, here goes with Marlin, Moorgate, Link and Robinson Way.

Fingers crossed that they haven't got the paperwork and they are feeling generous :rotfl:

Has anyone done a F&F with NatWest?
How easy or hard are they to deal with?
  • First time posting so please be gentle :rotfl:
Firstly I would like to say a massive thank you to all you guys for your advice on here which has been a HUGE help to me.
I have been helping my partner clear his debts since Nov 2013, doing full and final settlement offers etc. We have settled several now but the one I am having the most problem with is Moorgate, he has two debts with them (both HSBC debts which were sold to Moorgate) I have been writing to Moorgate since Nov 2013 but they just don't reply to any of the letters they are the only creditor we have contacted that has never got back to us even just to decline the offer, has anyone else dealt with Moorgate/have any advice? I even emailed them the other week and they have ignored this as well.

Send them a complaint, in writing, about ignoring your efforts to resolve the debt. Send signed for. They will likely respond to that based on my experiences with them.

Are any payments being made currently?

What was the debt for, when taken out?

  • Thank you happy_bunny,
Yes my partner has a DMP with Lawrence Charlton and has been making the monthly re-payments through them to Moorgate. The two debts which are now with Moorgate are for HSBC credit cards they are the only creditor we have contacted that hasn't come back to us.

Do they charge a fee for the DMP? Charities do it for free.

Best check their terms about full and finals to make sure they don't get a cut.

Were the credit cards taken out before April 2007? If so, send them a CCA request.

  • Yes LC do charge and I had looked at moving the debts to a charity however we are so close to sorting them all now I didn't think it was best to do (I may be wrong) we only have 5 creditors left to sort (2 of which are Moorgate's).
My partner was going to get LC to do the F&F but they were going to take a cut so I have been sorting all for him.
The HSBC credit cards were taken out between 2000-2006 (my partners estimate) I don't know much about this CCA, I will have a look on here for some more information, thank you for your advice
