I did a one day course at the Liberty sewing school in Regent's Street about ten years ago on making evening dresses including boned bodices and it was a fantastic day. The best tip was to cut out the pattern for the bodice in calico and sew it up with a cheap zip in the back then get someone to pin all the excess fabric out of the corset until it fits you perfectly and is absolutely skin tight. Mark the new seamlines with felt tip then rip out the seams and use it as a pattern for the bodice. It's worth making up another version in cheap fabric to make sure it's right before you cut into your good fabric

It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
