Zoo? I love going for a walk in the zoo if the weather is good. And the daughter would love it. Of course, no use if he doesn't like animals or there isn't one close...

  • If the weather improves go for a picnic if weathers bad have inside picnic that way if you have a glass of wine you dont have to drive home -
homemade cakes are 2 years too small to help cook ? sorry mine was over 2 when i started cooking
  • what about a kids party, jelly, ice cream, games. Something a bit silly and fun. Cos all men are kids at heart and the wee one will love it.
    have fun
    That mrs macchicken to you!
  • My son's girlfriend took him on a 'mystery trip' for his birthday. It turned out to be to monkey world (in Dorset) which is a long drive as well. He loved it there but I think the mystery and suspense added. Maybe a trip to the zoo or a theme park or similar but without telling him where..... and a silly party picnic with cake and candles if possible !!

And of course a big helping of YOU when little one has gone to bed !!

hahaha i doubt that very much ill be too bloody tired!! Plus she crawls in to our bed at 2am!!!

aw thanks everyone for your suggestions, would LOVE to go to zoo, nearest one to us is Marwell but its about £16 a person, and just dont have the money to go. Also no Theme Parks near me in Southampton apart from Paultons which is mostly for very little kiddies and hubby is 6"4 so me being the short person would have to go on all rides with Maddy while he watches the bags! lol. Im seriously thinking of picnic in the new forest. its meant to be sunny sunday but ive noticed the weather man lying a hell of a lot lately!!

you can still get the odd voucher on packs of kellogs for the free zoo admission tickets. They were out months ago, but if you go to a quietish shop and look for slow selling lines you might find one.

I saw somw in Sainsburys last week on Kellogs honey cornflakes. Might be worth a try. ASDA is usually no good as they have a high turnover of stock, alternatively you could plea on here if anyone has got a spare one they can no longer use.
  • I just been on the days out website and in the new forest they have a reptile centre which would be just amazing to go to!!! me and hubby are reptile and invert mad.
