Had a wem today from Pick me up to tell me that I have won a pout mascara - cheered me up no end because I found out this morning that we have lost our Florida holiday with Travel City direct as the company has gone into liquidation with the Excel crash.

Thank you all - I think we might be one of the lucky ones as the package was ABTA/ATOL protected - I really feel for those who are stranded or who have lost their money.

Sandy, there was some "expert" talking about it on the radio earlier. Someone rang in saying they'd lost their honeymoon to Florida and he said if you take all your paperwork to another travel agent (think he mentioned Thomson as an example) it may be possible to transfer the holiday then the new travel agent will handle the ATOL claim to recover their money.

It sounded a bit too good to be true but if you care to sit through the "listen-again" for the Jeremy Vine show on Radio 2 for today, you should find it.

Just had a call off hubby - he is at Thomas Cook now and has managed to get us a new Florida package with Thomas Cook - still has all the same itinery and £600 cheaper - feel on top of the world now :j :j :j
