Liverpool airport to city centre

How far is it from liverpool airport to city centre ( travel lodge ) we have a bit of time to kill and were thinking of getting the train from the airport to the city centre as our hotel is only a 5 min walk from lime street station.....can anyone advise me ?

if its not too late, its about 15 - 20 mins in the car. (i may drive too fast sometimes)
there is a bus service to the train station (garston i think) that runs regularly and trains every 15 mins into lime street takes about 15 mins bus will be about 5 or ten (no good at times because hate the bus, if i drove would take 5 mins or less)
other alternative is taxi from airport to hunts cross or garston again trains every 15 mins.

there are buses into the city centre from the airport - enjoy the views! You ought to try getting anywhere else BUT Liverpool centre from Speke0
