Parking in Nottingham city centre

How much does it typically cost to park in Nottingham city centre for the day?

(Before anyone suggests I take the bus/tram/train/walk/park and ride etc I've already realised that a season ticket for the train costs about the same as a month's car insurance for me never mind anything else . I'm just trying to figure something out :p)

its very expensive £10 per day

we do the park and ride-free parking and £5 family ticket return on the tram.
  • Hiya

Can you provide more detail? Is this for one day or are you planning on week days or weekends?

    Where are you coming from?

I have lived in Nottinghamshire all my life - work in Nottingham and also come into the city centre at the weekend.

Feel free to pm me if you don't want to post the details on here

I think you need to provide more detail; the tram would be the cheapest option as the parking would be free from say, Wilkinson Street.

Otherwise, you are looking at, as Jules says, the £10 a day mark.
  • Times etc would also be useful.

If you are coming from the North of the city the train from say Hucknall is £2.60 (I think) a day or around £440 per year.

  • I'll be working in Nottingham for a couple of months. I was trying to explain to someone that the train in to Nottingham (works out at as less than £5 a day with a season ticket) is considerably cheaper than me buying a car.
  • If you have to come into the city centre the train and the tram are ideal.

The train station is the bottom end and is about 10 minute walk into market square. Whereas the tram runs to the station and also runs through market square - again this would depend on where you are coming from.

Do bear in mind that if you are coming in on the train (although from your previous post I don't think you have a car?) that you may have to pay for car parking.

I get the Robin Hood Line service from Hucknall which runs from Worksop to Nottingham. Really reasonable fares and mostly a decent service.

I live just by Hucknall station - the new houses behind Tesco - you'll have to give me a wave next time you pass by! ;) x
    Gone ... or have I?
  • lol, I use the train every day - will wave in the morning!

  • I travelled into Nottingham on the tram on Friday and saw a poster advertising £1 a day travel - I think it's a season ticket £90 for 90 days. Sounds good for someone working in the city centre.
