Most economic printer for around £70????

I have looked around the internet and basically every1's views are completly conflicting when it comes to which printers are the cheapest in the long run ie cheaper ink cartridges. Some people have suggested to get a laser printer, while other say an inkjet will actually be better than the cheaper lasers. I am looking to spend around £70 but just don't know which printer to buy?! Could some1 please help. I was looking at the dell http://configure.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=1110&c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1 but this only takes dell cartridges which cost £45.
Suggestions please as i need to buy this weekend ready for uni in a week!!

I personally always go for Epson printers as I can always find cheap cartridges on ebay , currently using a DX4400 which was only £25 in asda ink was £12 delivered for 2 sets (8 cartridges), I would recommend a search on ebay or similar to check ink prices of any you are interested in.

As a general rule avoid Dell/Lexmark for the very reason you just mentioned.
Also avoid HP because they print head is built into the cartridge = not cheap to run.
Laser printers great if high-volume.
Canon, Epson or Brother are your best bet.
Canon are generally considered best for quality.
Epson are generally considered good for quality and with cheap compatibles.
Brother are certainly worth considering. Quality isn't quite up with Canon, but isn't all that far behind IMHO, but with cartridges at less than £1 each from ink.co.uk certainly one to think about.

Anyway, as you say everyone has their own opinion and this is mine and I'm sure there are people out there who will disagree.
