Cleaner in North Lanarkshire Area

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a bit of advice please. I know it's not exactly MSE but we are thinking of getting a cleaner, maybe once a week/fortnight just to help take the pressure off a bit.

I've had a read a few forums on here but I was wondering if anyone on here has one and how you go about getting one? Do you use an agency? If so do you know if they operate in the N Lanarkshire area?

Any ideas, help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much!

Yes you can use an agency if you'd prefer. In my last houseshare, we got an agency round to quote, and while she was there the woman not so subtely dropped in that she happened to do some jobs on the side as well - so we ended up getting her and she was about half the price!!

Otherwise I guess you'd just put an ad in your local supermarket or something and hope for the best! My dad passed away recently, and mum thought about maybe taking a cleaning job on or something just to give her something to do, and it was an ad in the supermarket she was intending to go for initially! (we live in North Lanarkshire as well)

I posted on gumtree to find mine. I have used one of the national franchise as well but didn't really take to their system as there is so much they refuse to do and not all the money charged goes to the cleaner actually doing the job.

Thanks very much for your replies. I haven't really got anywhere with this to date, I was thinking about going through an agency but I might just advertise locally and see where I get. Gumtree is also a great idea - would never have thought about that thanks.
