Ok I am a FTB with discount on my home from local council
the problem is what lender will give me a mortgage ?
Before you all say anyone here's the bad news
The building is a weir steel that was built in 1950 and upgraded in 1980 to be called a weir Phoenix
Nationwide and IFA have wasted weeks on this to end up declining me:(
So does anyone know who will give me a mortgage

That's bad luck.
That's a really diffcult question to answer as well. It's easy enough to source a mortgage on personal details, but not on property construction.
Most lenders have a list of what they will lend on, so you could ring them direct and ask one each time. Bit long winded though.
Another suggestion is to call a local chartered surveyor ( who might now about your property construction) and ask them if they know of any mortgage lenders who will lend on them ?
Most surveyors are on several lender panels, and know what the lenders will ansd won't lend on, so they MIGHT be able to help.I am a Mortgage adviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks for the reply
I will ask the surveyors I got if they know of anyone
I am currently making a list of mortgage providers to call tomorrow when I get in from work and hopefully will get someone to give me a positive answer then hopefully get the ball rolling again with better luck this time .
