I have been an "unsuccessful" distributor with them for six years. When I put a lot of effort in at the start, I got paid enough to cover my advertising costs. The customers I gained this way swapped to another deal after a while. I also talked to people and got some more customers. Most of these have stuck with the company. I never went door to door as I do not like confrontation. I tried leaflet drops and had little success. If you decide to give it a go, you must find a system that suits you (preferably before you sign up) and stick at it for a minimum of three months. If after that time you do not like what is on offer, you've only lost a couple of hundred quid. Much less than trying to start an ordinary business or even a franchise. I know people who are making an excellent living from this company and have time with their families/friends as well as plenty of cash. I know others who packed up and say it's rubbish. You will be told that it provides a residual income. This is true if you reach a certain number of customers and keep that number up. I still have customers but do not get paid for them at present and therefore believe that the company does not offer a true residual income, because if they did, one would get paid for all services taken by just one customer.

My own personal view, is that there are network marketing companies out there with more lucrative compensation plans and better policies & procedures. Utility Warehouse aren't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but, I have found one that suits me better. I hope this helps.

Hi Maka, i also worked for BG on the door sales.I hit the highest earner in month 2,good money aswell.

I myself have done door to door with UW and i will be doing it again for sure but at the moment i dont have the time. Instead i use my mouth,it works for me.Like any other company there will be people who do make it and people that dont.I do well out of it and i dont think im anyone special.Do your homework my friend and work out for yourself which opportunity is for you.By the way if you reach 50 customers with UW your commission is untouched which is not hard to do.

That was part of my point. What happens if you stop working and your customer base eventually drops below the company's targets? They talk about residual income, and, to my mind they do not provide it. In my view, just one customer who keeps buying should produce an income, no matter how small. If you read their policies & procedures, ther's a catch there too. Don't get me wrong, they are not the worst by a long chalk, but, there are better.

Because I want to. The company I am now with will pay commission on just one customer.

  • This is my first ever post on this website which I came across by chance, but I couldn't resist some input here. In answer to your question Maka, Yes, you can make a very good income as a U.W. distributor, but as has been said many times, it does depend on the effort you put in.
I have been a distributor for 6 years and have been very p/t except for the odd month here and there. I am now able to live abroad most of the year and still receive a monthly income which covers most of my expenses. When I joined I didn't think it was going to be a viable business and I almost gave up on a number of occasions, I am truly glad I didn't! I earn a reasonable income which could have been a fantastic income if I had only done more.

What have you got to lose? £200? Not any more. If you gather just one customer a week for 12 weeks you get a full refund which means you are effectively joining for free and earning from day one.

I don't understand why anyone would want to join a business and be satisfied with just one customer, unless they are paying enough to cover a mortgage or pay for a holiday!

I was pointing out that the commission system is weighted for the company's benefit.
