PMT Its getting worse

I just need to vent my anger some how. My PMt is getting worse. Last month I made life awful for the family on holiday. Today I feel as if I am going mad, I want to lash out & hurt some one, anyone within reach. Have just had a row with DD1, she's crying & I don't care. I can't even type this properly without checking thespellings co my fingers are so shakey & y brain feels as if it is cottonwool.
Saw GP yrs ago,no hlep, my periods have never been regular so I can't take anything when they tell you to start 2 weeksbefore your period. I don't know what to do. have a family wedding at the w/e & i don't want to go if I am still like this, I might well say something I regret to sIL et al.
I seriously want to kill someone
2011, this will be my year .

You sound just like me a few years ago. The only thing that has helped me is the contraceptive pill. You dont need to know when your period will start as you take the first one the day after you start your period or something like that. It was a long time ago so I cant quite remember.
I am much better now, I still have a tiny bit of PMT but nothing like I used to. I could quite easily have killed my OH for no reason whatsoever. I could feel myself building up and I had to go and sit by myself for a while. Its awful and you feel as though you have no control whatsoever.
Speak to your GP about the pill as it will help.0 -
I know right now you feel like you're the only one feeling like this, and feel like you're not normal etc but you are normal and you're not the only one feeling like this.
I understand completely and have been to the doctors in the past but I don't think it's taken seriously enough, some women just have a bit of pmt, they're a bit narky but that's it, others have it bad where as you said, you do something and don't even feel bad at the time.
For now remind yourself that you are a good person and this is just temporary and will soon pass and you will be back to normal. If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -
I was like this a few years ago and can really sympathise. I went to the GP who diagnosed a hormone inbalance and I now have a Mirena coil which releases a tiny dose of progesterone daily and lasts for 5 years before needing to be replaced (I don't need the coil for contraception as I was sterilised years back). I've gone from the Wicked Witch who threw (dirty) dinner plates at the wall to Mrs Sweetness and Light - much more the real me.

Hi OP, can't take the pill, as I am way too old 40+, am over weight++ & can't tolerate the side effects. Thank you for the thought xx
Waiting for DH to get home, have already put the phone down on him today when he asked what the matter was. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I KEEP telling him, but he never listens!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think he thinks I will turn out like his mother who is acomplete fruit cake[ not down to PMT, at least that would be easier to deal with, well, not for him]
My head is pounding & I now am feeling very dizzy, & faint. I don't know what to do2011, this will be my year .0 -

You should really consider the above suggestion of a mirena coil. It has no oestrogen, just progesterone, so is fine for people with a high BMI. see your family planning ASAP (don't bother with GP as more often than not they are male or know nothing about family planning) for some advice, because it could really help you out.
Most women stop having periods altogether on the mirena, and it releases the lowest hormone dose of all the hormonal methods because it goes directly into the uterus area rather than having to take higher dose oral pill.
See fp clinic, i can't stress that enough, and get on the evening primrose oil.
Hope you feel better soon0 -
Have you thought about having acupuncture.
My dr has offered this to me in the past for PMT, which i did try a few times.
I do believe it helped at the time.
Worth a go if your not scared of needles.
Also i never found evening promrose oil to help so last resort for me was the acupuncture.

I was like you and still am if I eat sugar and anything ending in -ose eg lactose. I also found it beneficial to keep my blood sugar levels stable by eating stuff with (on?) a low glycaemic index eg oats and wholegrains rather than whitebread.
Give it a try for next month. You never know, it might work.
I had lots of health problems, one of them being that like you, I wanted to murder my OH and the dog! Both of whom I love dearly.
I cannot take the pill so I'm not sure about its role. Someone told me about evening primrose oil. I haven't tried it but she swears by it.
If you want further info. PM and I'll try not to bore you with the details!:o4.30: conduct pigeon orchestra...0 -

i agree with seeing a GP - you never know, just admitting that you can't cope as you are may help in itself. i didn't get mad, but i would burst into hysterical tears once a month for no reason. for me the pill helped, but there will be lots of options for you.
the most important thing is not to kill any close family members(distant ones may be acceptable!!!
