Specs on the Net - is anyone else having trouble?

Options
I've been waiting nearly three weeks for glazing (last year it took them one day.)
Last week I was told they would be sent Wed or Thurs, but they weren't.
When I got through on the phone yesterday the guy there said he'd get back to me in ten minutes but hasn't. All emails ignored.

Interested to know if others are having trouble and would appreciate advice about what I can do.

I had my optician send in new frames costing over £200. They sent them to Specsonthenet special delivery. I also paid specsonthenet £111, and have today asked via answerphone message and email for return of the unglazed frames and refund of payment minus the return postage cost.

  • Apparently they are in liquidation

I think I can get my £111 back I paid them via my Mastercard (credit payment) but I paid my local optician for the Lindberg frames, £244 which they sent on to specsonthenet at my request.
I've obviously asked for my property to be returned.

I also seem to be having trouble with company with numerous email and answerphone messages ignored.

I keep checking their site and it gives me the impression it is still processing orders ? surely this is not legal as in the link above they started liquidation in April

Unfortunatly I paid £45 by Debit card so I don't think I have any comeback, but I'm furious to think a company can get away with this..

any advice to what I could do ?

    thanks,

  • I did from Spain my order 15 days ago and they ordered me the invoice, but I have not received anything. I have ordered them several e-mail protesting but they do not answer me. That I can do?
  • They have answered me and assure me that the next week I will have the order. As they say they had not received the prescription though I sent her for e-mail. Request for that at the moment deis for not read the message that I put, I am going to hope a next week and with the results that it has already I will inform you.

    Regards to all
  • Sorry to hear you are also having problems.
I had my specs returned to me.
The prescription was wrong and the holes were drilled in the wrong places on the rimless lenses - I got them done properly on the high street.
I asked for my money back at Specsonthenet and was ignored but fortunately I had paid by credit card and reclaimed from the bank.
  • Hello,
I have just received the glasses. Of distant view I see well, but not closely. Not if it(he,she) will be that I have to adapt (till now it(he,she) was using bifocals with stripe), or that are not made well. I am going to check it in an optics.

The matter is that after several mails without response I contact myself Mark saying that the motive of the delay was that he(she) did not understand the prescription that they had given me in Spain. I believe that they might improve very much the communication with the client, attending to his(her, your) questions with rapidity.
Well, solved problem. Thank you for everything.
    Regards
  • Orderd some frames to be glazed at the begining of the month paid for them and had no correspondence since. Tried e mailing about 8 times but no reply and tried phoning but rings a few times then gives an engaged tone. Anyone know how to contact this company. I know others have had problems but i only picked up on that after my frames failed to turn up after over 2 weeks.
  • Specsonthe net are bad news. They seem to work in one of 2 ways. The first by getting you to pay larger sums and then you never hear from them again or by fullfilling a small order and then ripping you off when you go back for a second pair. In future I would advice paying specsavers or someone else, at least your guarenteed your glasses.
