Tax rebates

How do all
I've been reading the news recently and they are saying that workers can expect a £60 tax rebate in September pay.
Now, who is eligible for this and how do you find out? I am with a temp agency, have been since 25th July, also part time work since 6th August (min 10 hrs per week)
Am I entitled to it??:money:

The info I got from HMRC was to increase all tax codes with an 'L' by 60. For example if you were on 543L tax code, it has now changed to 603L.0

Quick question regarding the tax rebate, gordonstights mentioned 543L, i have just looked at my tax code and its showing i'm still on 543L. Does that mean i won't get the tax rebate? surely it should of got changed.
Many thanks,0 -
Your employer will increase your code automatically to 603L when he runs this month's pay. You will then get your refund. HMRC does not issue revised codes to everyone if their affairs are straightforward - they just send blanket instructions to employers.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

thepinklady - it's the first payday after the 7th September where it takes effect. If you are paid weekly or monthly then you will see it on your next payslip after the 7/9/08.0

EVERYBODY IS ENTITLED.
The change takes effect the first pay date after 7/9/08. Just got my first wageslip after that. Tax code changed to 603L and I had a £60 rebate applied to my tax deducted from my wages which means I was refunded £5.40 instead of paying £54.60 tax.0 -

HMRC do not actually say everyone is entitled. This is a quote from the HMRC website found here http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/employers/epa-basicrate.htm.Most employees receive the benefit of the increased Personal Allowance by paying less tax from September this year.0 -
