I'm with Atlantic for both fuels and, at the time I switched to them a couple of years back, they were certainly one of the better performers on price.
Also I've found them to be pretty on the ball on cutomer service so generally I have no gripes.
However, as Martin is now recommending switching, I'm wondering whether their rebate situation complicates the situation. Do sites like Uswitch take this factor into account when making comparisons?

I know that MoneySupermarket take the annual rebate into account. I was with Atlantic until my last rebate then changed.I would imagine the other comparison sites do similar.0

Chris Nowak's post applies to me, too. Have just had their rebate and now would be the time to change, as MSE is urging. Does anyone know the definitive answer on this?0

I'm not sure I understand your question, Alan. If you have received the rebate then you have the answer about how Atlantic handles their rebates.
The expected annual prices on (most) calculators do include the annual discounts and any direct transfer bonus (but not any third party referral cashback). That means for the first twelve months you will be paying more every month than one twelfth of the predicted figure.
It depends on the company whether you have to wait to receive an annual rebate or if you get it credited quarterly or monthly as you go along. In the latter two situations, the rebate will be pro-rata to your consumption.
Of course, all this only really matters if you have a low consumption. If your bill is £18 per month then paying an extra £8.33 every month is significant and may tie you in to a subsequent price rise. If you're paying £80 per month for your gas and 'lectric then the extra £8.33 is not so important.0
