Proof of purchase does not have to be a receipt, it may be a card statement (for example). Without proof of purchase, the retailer does not have to do anything.Gone ... or have I?0

A few years ago I purchased a bottle of wine that had problems with the corkage on it. I didnt have a clue where I purchased the wine from so I wrote to the address on the label saying that I was disappointed and would send them the cork and bottle for their reference if they would send prepaid packaging etc. They sent me an apology, postage for my letter and 6 replacement bottles.
Although you may not have the receipt it may be worth a letter...:A Totally addicted to MSE :A0 -

i went to asda customer services with just a receipt when my bottle of wine fell out the bottom of one of there cheap bags and smashed on the road. They didnt bat an eyelid just told me to go and get another one free of charge. I thought I had no chance, but always worth a try I say0
