Tesco voucher to BA miles executive club

Options
looking for a cheap way to fly me and the family down to London next year, I found a deal for £2.50 = 600 BA miles and wondered if anyone had a personal experience of using this.

I joined the excutive club, including my whole family and my mum as she flies up to see us quite a bit from London to Glasgow.

I have £85 worth of vouchers at the minute, just thinking about converting a few of them to BA miles but really sounds too good to be true.

On their website you can buy 1000 miles for £31
Payment a day challenge: £236.69
Jan Shopping Challenge: £202.09/£250
Frugal Living Challenge: £534.64/15000

  • Is it not 60 BA miles for £2.50? You need £31.25 for 750 miles which may get you a short flight.

It seems a lot of money to me which could be used to fund meals, entry tickets etc using a normal ticket.

I've put some Tesco points into BA miles and reckon the 600 miles for £2.50 is better value than the airmiles deal.

Speaking as a frequent flyer, it is FF conventional wisdom that the only occasion where you would consider using miles for a domestic redemption is where the flight is in the near future and the flight costs are high. For flights bought well in advance you are using thousands of miles to save a pound or two, which is the basic "free" element covered by the redemption of miles. Remember, you will have to pay taxes etc (APD, airport charges and fuel surcharges) which will account for over 90% of the whole flight costs.

Flying LOCO will cost you far less than a "free" flight and your BA miles can be saved for something more worthwhile.
