mitten clips?

Anyone know where I can get some of these from. jojomamanbebe have them in for £5 but is there anywhere cheaper. (mitten clips are 2 crocodile clips with a piece of elastic between them to hold them onto the coat & gloves so they dont get lost)

Thanks
Helen

wouldn't it be cheaper to make some the
2 crocodile clips (stationery or electrical shop)
    piece of elastic
    I haven't got one!
  • Yes, I think making them wouldn't be that difficult. They look a bit like small versions of trouser braces.

hmmm i wonder if im that talented. Its the thicker clips than normal crocodile clips so any idea where to get them? I'm not sure what they are technically called as Ive searched crocodile clips & it brings up all the little clips. I want the sort that the braces have on them but no idea on the technical name which doesnt help.
    Thanks

what about looking in your local charity shops for braces then just using the clips?

Are these for a child? Why not use the old method of linking the mittens with a long piece of elastic? sew one mitten to each end of the elastic, then thread one mitten up one arm of the coat across the back and then down the other arm. mittens never get lost this way. Might not look too cool if they are for an adult though.. ( a bit Roy Cropper, if you know what i mean )

They are for a child yes & lmao no rather than look roy cropper i thought we would avoid the string through the back this year after a nightmare with them getting tangled last year after going in the washing machine, with the clips i can just take them off & theres no nightmare tangles. But thanks for the reply.
our local charity shops are actually rather badly priced, I could probably get a pair from jojo for the same price as attempting to make my own. I look in charity shops then go next door buy the same item new in the shop (without the hole donated by the previous owner of the charity shop pair) & its cost me about 50p more. But it would be a good idea otherwise. thanks anyway.

or poundland sell some of the clips for holding the cover on your ironingboard - these could easily be converted, and there are 4 in a pack, so works out alot cheaper than buying from the above link

or perhaps if you have some old suspenders, you could try using the clips off those instead?
