Best way to protect suede?

I've just bought a lovely suede coat and want to know the best way to protect it from the elements (and 2 small boys!)
Any ideas?

you can buy some protective spray for suede that you spray on,i usually give mine a couple of good sprays all over letting them dry between each good spray also if you do get them dirty let them dry then brush off with a suede brush, you can get these from shops like clarkes but they charge an arm and a leg and i think wilkos do them

Yeah...leave it in the wardrobe and just look at it from time to time.

Suede is notorious for getting grubby, the best you can do is spray just like rammy mentioned above.
