  • Hiya buttercup & welcome to the forum...1st your NOT a faliure for whats happened, everyone here has been there in one way or another..if anything you deserve a pat on the back for taking the step in getting advice...I can understand what people say £8000 is a small ammount but it might as well be 8pence if you dont have the cash to pay...my debts totalled £11,000 .....little late reading this so i'll not repeat what good advice you've received so far.....pop up your SOA (statement of affairs...money in/money out) and one of the resisdent experts will cast an eye over things for you

if it makes things easier you can use this..

  • I cant really add anymore advice to this except to say your doing a wonderful job, I suffer from anxiety and agoraphobia and I didnt step off the doorstep for 9 months I know exactly how your hubby is feeling and you have my respect as I know how difficult it is, my partner has been a rock for me and done sooooo much.

Deffo speak to the debt charities, they may be able to negotiate with your creditors reduced payments as I agree Bc for 8k is a bit extream (i owed 40k!!!)

Chin up your doing a great job.
"Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

£8k of debt isn't a huge amount compared to some people, but it's huge if you haven't got the money to pay it off.

Totally agree....8,000 might as well be half a million if you have zilch.
And most importantly you are not a failure.

  • Can't really add any more lol, just wanted to say keep your chin up and keep posting, the people on here are fantastic!
  • Hiya welcome to the board, firstly get in touch with one of the debt charities asap and they will go through your options.
My BR experience ended yesterday and I am so glad I done it now. Before it started I was a complete wreck and didn't know where to turn because i to was unable to work. I had been trying for ages to try to sort out my debt which was £5000 and no amount of small offers of payment would help, the calls from my creditors where coming in 24/7 and I was beside myself. I hated having to make excuses to my kids why I was ignoring the phone. Anyway 6 months later i am starting a fresh and adament I won't ruin it again. I am much happier in myself and a better parent for it and I can live for today instead of worrying about the future.
