Reclaiming PPI

Hi, been reading all Martin's info on reclaiming PPI and wonder if its worth me having a go.
I applied online for an MBNA credit card in Oct 2005. I didn't realise at the time that PPI was included in the online application. I have recently received an updated conditions of of contract which also includes changes to the PPI . This came into force 1st Sept last.
There are a couple of things I might be able to "plead" - pre existing medical conditions for one as I realise that I won't be covered by this insurance. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Ps I'm 60 now and in receipt of State pension as well as a part time job.
Many thanks
