things. By removing things, that it will be obvious were there before, you could be seen as devaluing the property to the detriment of your creditors.

Also, if you have already been declared bankrupt, those items now 'belong' to the OR's office, or the mortgage provider - in other words, they are not yours to take.

Never thought of it like that!

It's entirely up to you what you take, although the 'worse' condition the house is left in the less they will sell it for. Will the shortfall still be taken under your bankruptcy?

once your out of a property the locals will be in, it will be gutted by the !!!!!'s...

 I certainly wouldn't take a lot of those things. By removing things, that it will be obvious were there before, you could be seen as devaluing the property to the detriment of your creditors.

Since when does the O/R or mortgage company own the carpets of a house that is occupied by a bankrupt?

Its no more devaluing the house than eating the foods in the cupboard or using your heating oil.
  • would think anything like a gas fire/bolier etc needs to be left as is.

and taking out the decking, and FITTED kitchen ?? surely that reduces the desirablity (and value) of the house, making any prior agreed price totally bogus..

and as with the carpets, items may not fit properly into your new place anyway.. best have a fresh start, non?

doors are surely part of the structure, and need to be left- if only as a health and (fire) safety issue?

leave the shed too, but do take any tools, hazardous materials (oil, p o r n, etc!)etc.

curtains can go, but rails should be left.

all this should really be sorted when exchanging contracts, so the buyer knows what to get in themselves?

EDIT- oops! I mis-read OP asa sale, rather than repo..
as long as place left sade, take the lot (if you really needed the bits..)

The OP is talking about repossession, not sale.

Say no more! I once helped someone move and cleared out a greenhouse and found a dodgy video under a gro bag! The tomatoes did well that year!

I have a shed full of rusty tools and a jungle of a garden so I'd leave mine!
