  • well im glad to hear you are on your way to getting it sorted.

Im in a similar position with regards to pay day loans.

How did you go about dealing with them if you dont mind me asking as id like to do simillar.

    Thanks
  • Hi,

Thanks, its such a relief to know i'm getting it all sorted.

I emailed each of the payday loan companies and explained that i could not afford to keep paying the amount i'm paying at the moment, and they called me to arrange a 6 month payment plan for as much as i can afford and have agreed to freeze any interest on my accounts too.

Until i got my first payday loan i had never heard of them, and its ridiculous when you think about how much money is wasted just paying the interest each month until it can be paid of fully.

    Hope you get sorted too.
  • mines with pay day uk amoungs others.

Did they want proof that u couldnt afford it.

Did you save much a month?

    Sorry for all the questions

They get a lot of stick on here, and yet they are cheaper for a short term loan than exceeding your Bank overdraft, and they do seem to have a reasonable attitude if you genuinely are struggling to pay them back (Not personal experience, just what I have heard from others). Just one tip, stick to the agreed payments plan, as they are very 'robust' if you mess them around!

You or anybody else knowing details about my personal life isn't going to help me get out of debt in any way, as it happens if its really that important my mom died of cancer and my dad killed himself not long after, i am having regular counselling sessions so i am coming to terms with my loss. I got in a mess with money as i was severley depressed and had to take some time off work and my sick pay eventually ran out. I hope this clears a few things up for those of you who think you need to know how i got into debt.

Many Thanks to those of you who gave me some helpful advice, i have contacted CAB and they have advised that i contact each payday loan company and explain my situation and arrange a payment plan which i have now done.

Aw i am so sorry about your lose you really have been to hell and back
CAB will help you they are great people
Please don't bottle things up .

Its no problem at all, i was so worried when i realised what a mess i was in with payday loans, so i'm happy to hopefully help you with the same problem.

No, they didn't ask for any proof at all, they just called me and asked if i could afford to pay £25 for the next 6 months and i said yes and they have now set my payment amount to £25 per month for 2 of the loans i have, i am waiting to hear back from the other 2 with the payment plan.

I have for the last year or so been paying £180 just to refer my loans to the following payday and have not had the money to pay them off, so for the next 6 months i'll have to pay £100 to cover the payment plan for each of my loans and will have them paid off in 6 months, hopefully sooner if i can afford to pay off a little more.

Yes, one of mine was with paydayuk.

    Hope that helps you.
  • Thanks journ, i'm having regular counselling sessions now which really helps and i'm thinking much more positively about getting on with my life.
I figured, getting my money issues was the best thing to tackle first and probably the easiest of the lot.
    Thanks again.

Hi there - just read what the op has been through and this puts the debt into some context. None of us are horrible or mean to appear rude or nosey but by understanding the circumstances that have led to your situation helps.

As journ said the CAB will be able to help you loads and I hope that the counselling goes well and helps out.

    Take caare
