paying cash definatly works for some people... or working from a seperate bills account for DD's and a seperate cash/debitcard account for all other spends...
also try www.spendingdiary.com it is an online diary and gives some good information about which categories your spending comes under.... it can be eye opening.... also gives you another website to pootle around in and keeps you away from catalogue sites!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Hi
maybe spending cash for stuff could work for you, why not try it for a month or so?
I do agree that when you just hand over a card to pay for things it doesn't really seem like proper money. I guess that's where a lot of people go wrong.
Do post up your soa when you get chance, maybe there's somewhere that you could cut down or save money on. Many people spend too much on groceries and there's all sorts of tips over on the MoneySaving OldStyle board.
Then, you could add those savings onto the £195 per month you're gonna save and soon, you won't be worrying about not having savings - BECAUSE YOU WILL HAVE SAVINGS! :T0 -

Also, try doing an inventory of what you already have.... all the toys, all the aftershaves, perfumes etc. Then when youa re tempted, you'll know that you already have stacks and don't need it.
This would definately be a good idea for me! I went through my house and found half of boots this week. I have about 15 mascaras, 6 deoderants, even expensive make up thats still sealed!! and the list goes on. I have banned myself from buying toiletries and make up!0
