Debth issue with buchanan clark

Years ago i had a loan from barclays. I was self employed then and i was being able to pay the loan and had even payment protection insurance on it as well ( I don't know what that was for). But a few years ago my business went and i couldn't pay my barclays loan and barclays credit card. )
so i had to look for a job and took me about 6 months to find a job . So in this period my barclay loan and barclay card went to debth collectors after defaulting my debths. Buchanan&Clark who i pay my barclay loan to demanded £80.00 and Cabot financial who i pay my barclaycard to demanded £60.00 a month. So i paid them untill last january.
And i had to stop because i can't afford to pay them anymore £140.00 per month. Just to pay them i had to rinse my capital one card and i don't wanna get another debth while i am paying them. On the phone they are not reasonable. Well i know they want their money. And i don't like to owe money either. I owe buchanand and clark About £2100 and barclay card about £1700.
Now they are threatening me with going to court.
Currently my income is as below.
From employment : £970
Housing benefit : £450
Tax credits : £240
Child benefit : £75
Total : £1735.00
My current outgoings (including my son & wife)
Rent : £850
Council tax : £125
Gas+Electricity : £70
Virgin : £25
TV Licence : £12
Mobile bills for 2 : £35
Water : £30
Nursery : £300
Kids medicines : £20
Travel to work : £60
Nappies : £20
food+cleaning+other : £280
My 2 year old son is just started to nursery part time so my weife can start to work as well. But she is strugling. So it will take a bit more time. So untill she gets the job i can't afford to pay the B&C and cabbot. I am happy to strech upto £30 to both companies untill my wife gets a job.
So i am not sure what todo.

I couldn't afford to upkeep my payments with another debt, so I offered less money, but said that the amount that I was offering was disproportionately higher than other creditors that I owed money to, in order to pay the smallest debt off first. I added that if they declined the offer my only alternative was to enter a debt management plan, which would have meant that to be fair to all other debts, their repayment would have been much lower. I also asked them to reduce the total sum of the debt, which they did, but not by as much as I requested. They did accept my repayment offer though. It probably depends on their tactics and the individual situation that you are in whether they will accept your offer or not, but you have nothing to lose by trying!0

I suggest you look at the reclaiming PPI section. Some PPI cover is not suitable for self employed so you may have been missold this and can posibly reclaim.

After reading all the posts i gave them a call and offered them £15.00 over the phone and the BCW rep found it a bit too low. And i explained my circumstances and said they either take it or i see them in court. And they accepted my offer untill i decide that i can pay a bit more. Thank you for your advise and help guys. Also i willl look in to this PPI think as well.0
