hi
My mortgage fixed rate with NR ran out on 1st Sept, i applied for a re-mortgage with BOS (Halifax) in JUNE and have today been told that i have been rejected!. it took so long because they lost paperwork etc and asked for bank statements 2 days before my mortgage fixed rate was about to end! Myself and partner need extra borrowing on the re-mortagage to pay off credit cards, but at present have missed payments on these, we have not missed any payments on loans or on our morgage, we have no defaults or CCJ's does anyone have any soggestions as to where to go from here?
Much Appreciated

If you have a poor payment history, it isn't going to be easy to get the finance.
A reputable broker is the first stop - but make sure you know they can help you before committing to paying any fees.
Why did it take BOS 3 months to decline you?0 -
What do you need the extra money for?
I not just being nosey, but the fact that you've missed payments looks like you are strugling to budget and more debt is not necessarily a good solution.
There are people around here who might be able to help with you entire situation if you are prepared to give more details about your problems.
Missing payments is a really bad idea becaus it all goes on your credit report and stays there for 6 years and wil (as you have discovered) affect your ability to get credit for 6 years.
So you need to make great efforts to pay on time, whatever that entails.0 -
i went into the branch in June and the manager told me that applying over the phone was the new way. it has taken this long because of lost paperwork ( i took payslips, etc into the branch and they fax them over to a central based end it's scanned on to a computer) which was lost 3 times!!!! and asking for things ie bank statements the day before i was told i would have a decision, not a good experience!!!0
