Recently remortgaged...but...

Hi guys

We recently remortgaged from 5.19% to 5.99% which we were comfortable with considering the current climate!

However, the first payment was due to come out of our bank on 28/08/08 & they took £80 more.. which led me to believe this 5.99% deal as agreed had not come into effect.. I called their customer service to be told that I am on SVR and I did not accept the 5.99%.. I know 100% I did as we initially agreed a 6.19% then had 30 days until remortgage so nearer the changeover I discovered the 5.99 deal which is £40 less p.m than the 6.19%... I called the contact centre to take the deal & they sent out paperwork.. at no point did she ask me to call back once received to validate etc etc.. I did however call in July to ask if the new deal will be taken on 28/07 or 28/08 & double checked it was the 5.99%.

We eventually got somewhere with the contact centre and they agreed to put us on 6.19% as they have paperwork approved by us.. but I feel that we should be on 5.99%.. I am writing them a letter today as they said they would refund me the difference and have not yet done so.

Does anyone think I stand a chance of getting the 5.99 deal? they did tell me they would listen back to all phone calls etc but doesnt seem as though they did this as they called back within 30 mins to say we could have the other deal.

Advice greatly appreciated.
