Joint Accounts

Hi,
I wasn't sure where this thread should be posted, sorry if it's on the wrong board.
Recently my mum's found out that my dad's removed her name from their joint account so it is now only in his name. When my mum asked the bank how he's done it they couldn't give her any information due to it being confidential.
This comes as a divorce settlement is coming through. My mum's redirected her money so it goes into a different bank account anyway. Is there a way that my dad could've done this without confirmation from my mum? She's not signed any forms or anything to remove her name from the account.
Many Thanks for any help.
James

seems that dad has done the dirty, mum would have had to sign something to take her name off the joint account. he must at least forged her signature.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

That's the conclusion i came to. I just wondered if there was any way he could've done it without forging her signature.
Surely that's fraud if he's forged her signature?0 -

It sounds like it to me.

You still have the right to a statement of what was in the account as at the date your name was taken off. This might help you when you speak to a solicitor.0

I would suggest in the first instance your mother get in touch with the bank, they have fraud departments and you will probably find the police refer her to the bank anyway"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."
