2yr tracker @ 6.09 (90% LTV)

is this a good rate??

im stuck between this and a 5 year fixed now (at 6.24%)

    If it has a sensible arrangement fee, then yes, it is a good rate

    Rates seem to be edging down - can you hold fire for a couple of days and see if the market does move?

  • Have you had a look at HSBC? I think their rates are slightly better than that ( obviously depends on whether its a re-mortgage, new mortgage etc )

    yes it is! its scandalous.

    ive only seen a £1500 fee BUT for a much lesser rate.

  • HSBC is 5.79% and £599 booking fee, also £30 transfer fee, lifetime tracker upto 90% LTV
    Just booked mine in my local branch today for 1st dec (5.99% with no fee was withdrawn on monday), the advisor had to look for the promotion code though as it is a mortgage special.

    You don't have to stay on it for "life" - the lock in period is usually quite low, between 0 to 2 years.
