Ok not sure if this is in the right place.........................if not please feel free to move it somewhere more appropriate.
We are trying to sort out our finances at the minute................getting everything coming out of one account as opposed to about 4 different accounts, hopefully with the end result that we will know exactly what 'disposable income' we have at any one time.
Anyway................my question is this.............we have set up a standing order (a few months ago) to transfer some money from one account to another. However I appear to be having a few issues working out just how long this takes to clear. Basically the money comes out of a Northern Bank account on the 5th of every month. Has anyone any idea how many working days this takes to clear to an account in another bank? I phoned them today to ask this very question and they basically said they didnt know! Wonderful eh!!

Any so's I pay on a Friday end up in the account on the following Wednesday so morning of the fourth day ( day 1 Friday, day 2 Monday, day 3 Tuesday, day 4 Wednesday ) remember weekends/bank holidays are not counted.
